First any fan can tell you the Chiefs biggest need. That need is quarterback there are several options by which to obtain one or two. They could buy one in free agency the valid options would be San Francisco's Alex Smith the qb that got booted out of the job by a rookie after playing 10 games.Another option would be Matt Flynn a backup qb for Seattle who was acquired from free agency last offseason with intentions of him starting, but was beat out by Russel Wilson another rookie. The final free agent option is Michael Vick of the Eagles he was replaced by Nick Foles after having concussion-like symptoms. The other option is to draft a qb although the field is thin this year. There is one more option keep Cassel resign Quinn and study Stanzi and Tanney hard.If I was Reid I would do all but the later. Cassel and Quinn in my opinion have had their chances.I think Tanney and Stanzi should get a look in camp for backup jobs, but ultimately the Chiefs will probably end up drafting a qb and maybe bringing one in through free agency. My picks would be Geno Smith or Landry Jones, only in the second round, and through free agency probably Vick because he knows Andy Reid's offense.
Lately I have been reading comments from Philly fans about Reid not running the ball much therefor lessening the role of Charles. In my opinion ,great! Charles will not be our runningback much longer if we run him in to the teeth of the defense every down.Plus Charles goes so hard when he runs he has to sit out a couple of plays. So if Reid gets us a good qb I see no reason for Charles to get left out.And maybe when we do pass it wont be a checkdown to Charles for a loss.
The Kansas City Chiefs got the attention of the sports world by hiring Andy Reid as their new head coach. The change was made after the Chiefs finished the season 2-14 under Romeo Crennel who was hired last year after interning after the last coaching meltdown. This hire was strange though because this coach wasnt hired by a gm,but rather by the owner Clark Hunt.General manager Scott Pioli was fired a little before Reid's hiring clearing the way for Reid to pick his own Gm.This is one of the better days in KC sports.
